Data Migration Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned data migration professional to lead our team in successfully migrating data from legacy systems to the target platform.

This is a key role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Migration Planning & Strategy: Develop a comprehensive data migration strategy, scope, and roadmap that aligns with program objectives and timelines. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, mapping rules, and transformation logic.
  • Execution & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end execution of data migration activities across all project phases, including extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation. Manage the migration of master data, transactional data, and historical records from legacy systems to the target platform.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Define and enforce data quality rules, cleansing standards, and validation procedures. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of migrated data with regulatory and audit standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data management roles
  • Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle data migration for a major ERP, HCM, or CRM implementation
  • Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, BAAN, etc.
  • Experience with data migration tools
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, master data management (MDM), and data governance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
