Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads backend development efforts and serves as a subject matter expert in Node.js and backend architecture.
  • Defines, designs, and enforces best practices, coding standards, and development workflows.
  • Mentors and guides junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Contributes to technical strategy, architecture decisions, and solution design for complex projects.

Backend Development:

">
  • Designs and develops scalable, maintainable, and secure server-side applications using Node.js.
  • Implements RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Ensures seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications and external systems.
  • Optimizes applications for performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and security.
  • Maintains proper documentation of APIs, system architecture, and development processes.

Team & Project Management:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Frontend Developers, DevOps, QA, Product Managers, Designers).
  • Participates in sprint planning, estimations, and agile ceremonies.
  • Ensures delivery of projects on time while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provides technical input during requirement gathering and feasibility discussions.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

">
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years in Node.js and 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js (Express.js, NestJS, Koa.js or similar frameworks).
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript & TypeScript.
  • Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with databases (SQL: MySQL/PostgreSQL, NoSQL: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong knowledge of API security, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SAML), and encryption techniques.
  • Experience with unit testing and automation tools (Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cypress).

  • Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
  • Experience building real-time applications (WebSockets, Socket.io).
  • Exposure to serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
