Job Description

We are seeking a Cloud-Native Architect to design and implement our enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role will involve hands-on architecture, automation, and strategic direction on AKS adoption, DevOps tooling, and cloud-native best practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned DevOps professional to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-effective AKS solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Architecture & Strategy
  • Define end-to-end architecture for AKS-based workloads in Azure
  • Design multi-environment, multi-region AKS architectures for high availability and disaster recovery
  • Establish best practices for container orchestration, scaling, and governance in AKS
  • Advise on cost optimization strategies for AKS and related Azure resources
Azure & AKS Expertise
  • Architect and provision AKS clusters with features like cluster and node pool autoscaling, private cluster configuration, network isolation using Azure CNI / Kubenet, managed identities, and Azure AD integration
  • Integrate AKS with supporting Azure services like Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus & Grafana, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and Azure Key Vault
DevOps & Automation
  • Design Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for AKS provisioning
  • Implement GitOps workflows like ArgoCD, Flux, for automated deployments
  • Define CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for AKS workloads
Security & Compliance
  • Architect RBAC and Azure AD security models for AKS access
  • Integrate security scanning for container images and Kubernetes workloads
  • Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and governance policies
Monitoring, Logging, & Observability
  • Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Container Insights, and Grafana
  • Establish automated alerting, anomaly detection, and incident response playbooks
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or related roles
  • 5+ years hands-on Azure experience, with deep AKS expertise
  • Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture & troubleshooting, Azure networking, IaC tools, container security, and governance
  • Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective AKS solutions
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Experience with service mesh architectures like Istio, Linkerd, or OSM
  • Familiarity with multi-cluster management tools like Azure Arc or Fleet
  • Experience in workload migration to AKS
Soft Skills

You should possess strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences, as well as the ability to lead design workshops and architecture reviews.
