Job Description

As a Technical Manager at Serko, you will lead teams of Software Engineers based out of Bengaluru. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Inspiring and guiding high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Co-defining technical vision and strategy, guiding teams through architectural and engineering decisions.
  • Driving delivery excellence by executing projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Ensuring platform security, resilience, and scalability for millions of users globally.
  • Designing robust, cloud-agnostic systems that support rapid innovation.
  • Accelerating AI/ML capabilities across demand forecasting, recommendation engines, and real-time decisioning.

Requirements

To succeed as a Technical Manager, you should have:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on distributed, cloud-native systems.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams of 8+ engineers.
  • Demonstrated success leading in high-performance technical environments.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (Java, Python, Go, .Net).
  • Track record of scaling platforms to support high RPS with 99.99% uptime.
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native tools and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform).
