Mortgage Investor Reporting Specialist

At 2coms, we are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Investor Reporting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in performing various activities related to Loan Servicing functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reporting-related tasks in support of the department, including remittance reporting, balancing, and preparing reports.
  • Review remittance reports to ensure data accuracy and adjust as necessary.
  • Reconcile various custodial bank accounts to ensure outstanding items are cleared.
  • Analyze accounting issues caused by system errors and suggest corrections to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements:

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in Mortgage Loan Servicing, preferably in Investor Reporting/Investor Accounting.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Maintain constant process knowledge in the team.
  • Document all updates received from the business area.
  • Participate in client calls and update the team alongside supervisors.
  • Cascade and provide training on new updates to all team members.
  • Conduct knowledge checks and suggest process improvements.

Investor Reporting Experience:

  • Knowledge of Actual/Actual Schedule/Actual Schedule/Schedule Supplemental reporting and remittance validation of Private and GSE Investors.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with investor reporting principles and concepts, including debits and credits, cash flow requirements, and bank reconciliations.
  • Competent in processing mortgage funding transactions and payments, completing wire transfers and ACH transfers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month-end close activities, including booking journal entries, remitting investor funds, and compiling investor monthly servicing reports.
  • Assist in audits and other ad hoc requests.

Validation and Verification:

  • Validate classification of transactions as remittances, wires, and advances per transaction description and verify backup in servicing system.
  • Verify all bank activity with servicing records and mapping of all collections with remittances made to the Investor.
  • Verify funds owed and available for investor principal and interest remittances and advance funds when necessary.

Communication:

  • Respond to routine investor inquiries and escalate if necessary.
