Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include following up on raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters.
  • The merchandise coordinator will coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of trims and fabrics.
  • Maintaining order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays is crucial.
  • The successful candidate will prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers.
  • Managing buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries is an essential part of this role.
  • Conducting market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations is required.
  • Maintaining accurate merchandising records, reports, and documentation is vital.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and buyer compliance requirements is also necessary.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities are required.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (especially Excel), and knowledge of ERP/MIS systems are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction is necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.
