Job Title: AS400 Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled AS400 (IBM iSeries) System Manager with expertise in managing the entire system lifecycle, from setup and configuration to ongoing administration and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage LPAR life cycles, including creation, import, clone, deploy, migrate, start, shutdown, and delete.
  • Configure and manage server pools on Power systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform basic setup and firmware updates for IBM i, HMC, Storage, and SAN switches.
  • Document vWWPN mappings to corresponding LPARs, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Implement SAN zoning, mapping, and storage replication between data centers, ensuring seamless data transfer.
  • Support test environments on Power9 and AS400 systems, verifying functionality and resolving issues.
  • Conduct regular data replication checks and collaborate with network teams to ensure smooth replication processes.
  • Develop and execute infrastructure test procedures, dress rehearsals, and go-live activities, ensuring successful project implementation.
  • Adapt and update operations, monitoring, and administration processes to meet new environment requirements.
  • Research and share insights on current vs. 'To-Be' AS400 environment design, driving process improvements.
  • Create and maintain SOPs/manuals for AS400 restoration and recovery, ensuring business continuity.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6–12 years of experience in AS400 / IBM i Administration, with a strong focus on system management and support.
