NPI Manager Job Description

As a key leader in our supply chain team, you will oversee and manage all related activities to deliver innovative products to the market with speed and precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely launch of new products in accordance with project briefs and design intent documents.
  • Lead functional sub-team meetings to coordinate and ensure supply chain activities are delivered on time.
  • Provide supply chain inputs as per stage gate requirements for PMB gate documents and approval.
  • Represent the supply chain in project core teams.
  • Ensure end-to-end milestones are correctly set within overall project timelines.
  • Create granular supply chain plans and have full accountability for their successful implementation.
  • Monitor milestone progress against plans and communicate process deviations in core team meetings.
  • Generate product supply briefs / SIA for external supply options to evaluate and finalize prospective CMOs.
  • Work with quality teams to ensure new material suppliers and third-party contractors are approved for supply.
  • Provide inputs for costing and PL build to manage costs and meet commercial targets.
Accountability:
  • The scope of this role encompasses OTC, OHC, and Wellness category NPI projects in ISC regions.
  • As an NPI manager, you will support GM NPI in formulating strategy, technical directions, and effective conduct of NPI programs.
  • Hold delegation for functions in absence of line managers and be responsible to Supply Heads for day-to-day reporting.
  • Drive end-to-end supply chain milestones and ensure delivery of projects as per agreed COGs, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Manage directly or through external consultants to bring in new formats/business partners and deliver implementation of NPI plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/FMCH manufacturing industry.
  • Working experience of handling NPI/technical projects by leading cross-functional teams.
  • Desirable: Working experience in Packing operations/Manufacturing operations/Engineering.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proactive approach and ability to promote harmonious working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Effective communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Engineering graduate (Mechanical/Chemical Engineering) or Pharmacy Graduate with 10-12 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/FMCH manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Products/Processes/Plant Machinery used for Processing of OTC, Wellness, and OHC products.
  • Good knowledge of current technologies available in India/globally in terms of techniques and equipment relevant to Pharmaceuticals operations.
  • Conversant with latest Project management tools.
  • Strategic thinking with good creativity, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
