Role Overview

This position is responsible for gathering, posting, and reconciling payments received by the Revenue Team.

The individual will independently solve complex problems, integrating in-depth knowledge of reconciliation areas with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.

  • Good understanding of insurance accounting principles and reporting requirements.
  • Monitors and manages incoming payments.
  • Retrieves and posts remittances from applicable payor websites when available.
  • Reviews remittances for adjustments and transfers balances as necessary.
  • Responds to questions related to payment application and works closely with the onshore team to resolve account variances.
  • Researches and corrects keying errors as needed.
  • Documents root causes and discrepancies, generating reports according to department protocols.
  • Ensures all workflow items are completed within set turn-around times with quality expectations.
  • Reconciles payments to ensure accurate accounting system transactions.
  • Performs daily financial transactions such as verifying, calculating and posting accounts receivable data.

Desired Experience and Skillset

  • Relevant accounting degree with 3-7 years of experience.
  • Good technical accounting knowledge.
  • Understanding of reconciliation processes and strong accounting expertise.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and software applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in common business applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams.
  • High level of competency with Reconciliation.
