About the Role

The Service Transition Specialist will play a key part in the transition of clients with medium to complex services engagements. This role is responsible for ensuring a successful transition of services to the agreed timeframe, costs, and service outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement, run, govern, and control transition projects/programs from inception through to completion.
  2. Manage client relationships and establish positive relationships and constant communications with all internal stakeholders during a service transition project.
  3. Plan and facilitate engagement sessions with stakeholders in a service transition project.
  4. Manage and mitigate service transition risks.
  5. Manage client and internal escalations as per the standard escalation processes.
  6. Report on transition execution against the contracted planning and identify any major issues.
  7. Ensure handover for service execution and operational readiness validation has been successful.
  8. Support new services through an Early-life-support model as required.
  9. Ensure that all service transition-planning projects meet objectives and timing. Handover risk register to service operations team.
  10. Manage virtual teams to deliver the planned outcome for transition and transformation projects.
  11. Manage thorough validation and testing of services provisioned as part of the transition.

Requirements

  1. Seasoned understanding of the organization's services portfolio and capabilities.
  2. Seasoned track record of medium to complex Services Transition Management delivery within an IT environment.
  3. Seasoned knowledge of Project and Transition Management governance, frameworks, and methodology.
  4. Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate at a senior-management level.
  5. Ability to interpret, deconstruct, and contribute to contractual collateral.
  6. Excellent presentation and organization skills.
  7. Highly analytical and data-oriented.
  8. Seasoned ability to construct plans and schedules within a framework.
  9. Seasoned ability to look ahead and mitigate potential issues before they arise.
  10. Seasoned business and commercial acumen.
  11. Ability to think tactically with an understanding of the operations of a service delivery and operations business.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
  2. Recognized Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
  3. ITIL certification preferred.
