Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer/Assistant Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer/Assistant Manager to join our team at Atlas Copco in Pune, India. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for leading the plant quality activities for product lines, including screw compressor, piston compressor, and CNG compressor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the plant quality activities for product lines, including screw compressor, piston compressor, and CNG compressor.
  • Attending all ANDONS at line (for quality problems).
  • Communicating Andons and updated analysis status with all stakeholders.
  • Accountable for containment actions and corrective actions for line issues to run the line without quality problems.
  • Accountable for finding the root cause and implementing solutions for all plant quality issues – from various sources such as Andons, product audit, and warranty.
  • Responsible for process analysis emerging from Andons, product audit, and warranty, and accountable for solving all identified non-conformances.
  • Participating in New Product Development and responsible for product qualification reviews – as per new product development requirements.
  • Coordinating IQPR Collaboration meetings to use 8D methodology as problem-solving tools for all internal high-severity issues.
  • Maintenance and Compliance of IMS System for all aspects related to ISO certification.
  • Acting as Management Representative for ISO for its implementation along with the involvement of cross-functional teams and certification activities.
  • Responsible for Air power parts (CKD) quality issues and taking corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborating with product and process auditors to solve issues identified during audits.
  • Leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of line issues tracker with all required details.
  • Responsible for monitoring and achieving monthly and yearly targets and KPI goals for plant quality activities.
  • Developing and implementing the incoming inspection plan for identified non-Zero-Defect Supply parts.
  • Supporting the completion of calibration activities for tools and instruments.
  • Developing and implementing the plan for incoming inspection activities for critical identified NZDS parts.
  • Constructively participating in TCM, PQM, PTM, and DN forums.
  • Constructively participating in Technical Committee Meetings (TCM) and using experience to support teams in root cause analysis. As an expert in technical problem-solving, assisting teams in choosing the proper method based on the complexity of the problem.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities in the company (Kaizen events, etc.) with the aim of identifying best practices affecting Product Quality and ensuring that these are properly documented and transferred wherever possible so that all relevant products benefit from the learning point.
  • Proposing process improvements wherever relevant to improve the organization's learning and control over Product Quality. You are the owner of the Check and Act of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
  • Cooperating with other Product Companies within Compressor Technique to share and transfer knowledge from and to PC Dapodi. Identifying best practices from similar industries and bringing them back in the Atlas Copco Group whenever relevant.

Requirements:

  • 12-15 years of working experience in rotating equipment manufacturing/Automobile industry.
  • ISO lead auditor will be an added advantage.
  • Command on English Language.
  • Excellence on IT tools like SharePoint, MS office, MES.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of rotating products and parts. Added advantage of having experience in various types of compressors, pumps.
  • Good command on drawing reading.
  • Understanding and interpretation of GD&T.
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments for parts inspection.
  • Knowledge of 7QC tools (e.g. Pareto Chart, why-why analysis), 8D analysis, Kaizen, RCA, CAPA
  • Knowledge of non-destructive tests i.e. RT, UT, MPT & LPT.
  • Knowledge about parts packaging to prevent transportation damages, rust prevention etc.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering with relevant experience.
  • M-Tech/MBA will be an added advantage.

Personality Requirements:

  • Should have Good communication skills & eye for quality.
  • Good verbal, written communication skills & interpersonal skills.
  • Presentation Skills, data analysis and tools.
  • Team player.
  • Relationship management and conflict management.
