Project Financial Manager Job Overview

 

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize project profitability, cash flow, and revenue growth.
  • Manage the project budget, forecasting, and reporting processes to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to stakeholders on project performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial models, forecasts, and reports that support business decision-making.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients through effective communication, issue resolution, and timely delivery of project financial information.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by providing exceptional service, responding to inquiries, and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
  • Site Expenses Monitoring and Control:
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for monitoring and controlling site expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular expense reports and analysis to stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Project Actualisation and Reporting:
  • Lead the activity of project actualization (actua) at defined frequency, coordinating with the project team to obtain required data, discussing with the controller manager to prepare finance-related slides for actua presentation, and uploading the actua in SAP after approval from required personnel.
  • Review Kappa against the budgeted costs, highlighting issues if costs exceed the budget, and checking that adequate documentation is attached to the Kappa.
  • Monthly Reporting and Compliance:
  • Share project slides for monthly business review in accordance with the timeline defined by the project team, keeping the controller manager informed.
  • Conduct comprehensive checks on provisions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting rules and company instructions.
  • Perform monthly cash verification and surprise verification at least once a month, reporting results to the HO team (controller manager and IFC team).
  • Internal Financial Controls and Compliance:
  • Lead and supervise compliance with internal financial controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
  • Monitor ABG, PBG, and other guarantees, ensuring timely renewal and reduction as per contractual conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Team Support and Development:
  • Provide necessary support to the execution team, being an integral part of the project team, and becoming a core finance support for all finance-related matters on site.
  • Anticipate and discuss issues with the controller manager, taking proactive actions to resolve them.
  • Timely fill man-days for self against respective projects.
  • Check that staff working on projects have their timesheets filled timely and properly.
  • Day-to-Day Work Supervision:
  • Supervise the day-to-day work of site accountants, provide guidance, and support for efficient conduct of site tasks.
  • Support central controlling teams on various analyses and ad-hoc requests.
