Job Description

Are you passionate about high-level system design and integrating complex hardware/software systems? As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will drive mission-critical technology in transportation and infrastructure domains.

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Systems Engineer is a fully qualified practitioner providing advanced technical leadership and systems engineering management for the design, development, and integration of complex hardware and software systems. This role requires overseeing complex issues, developing solutions in creative and effective ways.

With a minimum 5+ years of experience working in a software-driven technology environment, you will guide projects through the entire system lifecycle ensuring alignment with customer needs and company objectives. Additionally, this role requires influencing internal and external stakeholders while adapting communication styles to complex organizational challenges.

Key responsibilities include leading and guiding technical teams in requirements decomposition, system design, development, and integration efforts. You will provide advanced technical oversight on project execution, ensuring that all system requirements, architectures, and designs align with customer and contract specifications.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will tackle complex issues using advanced analysis and problem-solving skills. Adapt existing methodologies and develop new approaches to address system challenges, ensuring high-quality outcomes. You will serve as a technical consultant and project/program-level subject matter expert advising internal teams and customers on complex matters.

Other key responsibilities include mentoring junior team members, fostering technical growth and leadership development within the engineering team. You will also lead risk assessments, trade studies, and system modeling to support decision-making and ensure that technical risks are mitigated throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a software-driven technology environment
  • 5+ years of experience working with engineering projects involving complex systems
  • Formal Systems Engineering/Solution Architecture experience
  • Experience at a team level in development or technology integration teams
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycles using both Waterfall and Agile approaches
