The role of a Staff Nurse is multifaceted and requires individuals to work collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a pioneer in the field, our organization serves over 5 million patients annually, with a network of 37 hospitals across 19 cities and a pool of over 5,600 doctors.
The Staff Nurse will be responsible for taking nursing histories, summarizing data, and stating nursing diagnoses/patient care needs. They will observe and record signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients, and report assessment changes to the concerned authority.
The ideal candidate will have GNM/B.Sc with valid registration from the Delhi Nursing Council, as well as strong communication skills, both oral and written. Proven team leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment are also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Takes the nursing history, summarizes data, and states nursing diagnoses/patient care needs.
- Observes and records signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients; reports assessment changes to the concerned authority.
- Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
- Performs admission, discharge and transfer procedures, and assists others with patient's activities and care.
- Executes physician's orders for all assigned patients; safely and properly administers medications and treatments.
- To be responsible for collection of specimens when ordered, ensuring correct labelling.
- To be responsible for preparing assigned patients for programmed medical procedures.
- To participate in specialist's rounds and assist by giving relevant information as regards to nursing observations made on the residents.
- To supervise the cleanliness of assigned area or the ward.
- Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipment's are in working order.
- To ensure that all items used for residents inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.
- To carry out inventory on surgical items and equipment for each week.
- Maintain residents' safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
- Accurately records and reports incidents.
- Follow proper infection control protocols.
Requirements:
- GNM/B.Sc with Valid Delhi Nursing Council Registration
- Basic computer operations (Typing, Email, MS-office usage)
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven team leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
