About the Role:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Claims Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To monitor and handle all legal issues regarding claims matters, including recovery actions such as outstanding freight, detention, and demurrage.
  • Gather all relevant documents and report to Head Office all claims within 24 hours. Advise on the merits of the claim and future steps to be taken.
  • Monitor and assist Head Office claims as well as other colleagues in handling of claims and court cases till its closure.
  • Handle all P&I related matters such as cargo claims, General Average and stowage.
  • Ensure prompt reserves are taken against third parties for damages to CMA CGM containers and cargo.
  • Manage Debt Recoveries in accordance with NCLT tribunal. Draft and vet Service Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding etc. pertaining to the business.
  • Implement procedures implemented by the Head Office Legal Department throughout the network of CMA CGM India.
  • Provide guidance to and assist branch offices within India on handling legal issues.
  • Provide legal advice and assist other Departments of CMA CGM on shipping related issues.
  • Handle loss of On Board Bill of Lading cases and apply Bank Guarantee procedures.
  • Prepare monthly reports highlighting issues requiring intervention.

Requirements:

  • Minimum graduate degree.
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in the shipping industry, preferably with Cargo/Marine claims experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft tools especially Excel and PowerPoint.
