Construction Project Cost Estimator

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Construction Project Cost Estimator.

Responsibilities
  • Capital Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed capital cost estimates for construction projects, considering all relevant factors.
  • Advise on Building Economics: Provide expert advice on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Contract Packages: Draft contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, to protect the interests of the organization.
  • Pricing Documents: Develop pricing documents for tender packages, taking into account all relevant factors.
  • Provide expert advice on Tendering Procedures: Ensure compliance with regulations by providing guidance on tendering procedures.
  • Instructions to Tenderers: Draft instructions to tenderers, outlining the evaluation criteria and requirements.
  • Develop Tender Evaluation Criteria: Assess the suitability of tender submissions using established criteria.
  • PQQ Questionnaires: Draft PQQ questionnaires to gather essential information from tenderers.
  • Conduct Commercial Evaluations: Evaluate tender submissions and negotiate with tenderers to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Price Variations: Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variations and determine amounts of claims in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Cost Reports: Provide stakeholders with accurate and timely information.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Engineering Degree: A mechanical or electrical engineering degree with 5-10 years of experience is highly desirable.
  • QS & Cost Management: Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes, including the ability to interpret drawings for quantification.
  • Chartered QS: Chartered QS under a recognized organization such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS etc. is an asset.
  • MS Office & IT Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office and IT literacy are essential for effective communication and data analysis.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory for successful collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, are critical for success in this role.
  • Collaboration: Able to coordinate with other staff and departments across Global offices located in US.
  • Organizational Skills: An organized self-starter who is attentive to detail and able to work independently is ideal for this position.
