Job Role: Commis I

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Commis I to join our kitchen team. As a Commis I, you will play a vital role in preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in maintaining food logs, monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared, and communicating assistance needed during busy periods.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of food items, preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists, and assisting management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Maintain accurate food logs
  • Monitor and maintain quality and quantity of food prepared
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and develop your skills as a culinary professional.

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of related work experience
  • No supervisory experience required
  • No license or certification required
