International Trade Compliance Lead

Syngenta Crop Protection is a global market leader in crop protection, helping farmers counter threats to safe, nutritious, and affordable food production while minimizing land and agricultural inputs.

Job Overview

This position plays a key role in setting the trade compliance agenda for Syngenta Group in the AMEA Region, collaborating with colleagues on global trade compliance goals, mind-set, and culture. The successful candidate will support and implement global trade compliance topics, monitor legal and political developments, and advise on strategic trade-relevant issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage regional trade compliance programs covering cost mitigation, corporate governance, and other critical areas.
  • Interact closely with Commercial, Production, Supply, R&D, Legal, and other functions across all Syngenta Group businesses to enhance trade compliance program impact.
  • Collaborate with Syngenta Group businesses to establish duty strategy and introduce cost savings, mitigations, and avoidance.
  • Review and monitor first-line controls at Operations level, provide training on the Global Trade Compliance framework portfolio, and advise employees on trade compliance issues.
Requirements
  • Build strong relationships with trade compliance teams and cross-functional communities across all Syngenta Group companies.
  • Able to work across international boundaries, deliver the trade compliance agenda via a client-service model, and have knowledge of trade laws and regulations.
  • Five years of experience in international trade operations, trade law, or trade compliance, with fluency in English required and other languages a plus.

Additional requirements include willingness to travel for work, excellent organizational, follow-up, and analytical skills, as well as proactive management of scope and ability to balance various projects and timelines.
