Senior Big Data Engineer Position

This role is responsible for leading data engineering teams and driving the design, development, and implementation of large-scale data processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, and operations to deliver business outcomes.
  • Develop expertise in Scala and Python programming languages.
  • Gain a deep understanding of HDFS internals and migration strategies.
  • Implement Apache Iceberg (or similar table formats) for schema evolution, ACID transactions, and time travel.
  • Run Spark and/or Flink jobs on Kubernetes using operators like Spark-on-K8s or Flink-on-K8s.
  • Work with distributed blob storages like Ceph or AWS S3.
  • Design ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm) for provisioning data infrastructure.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
