Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial IT Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA, MES) with enterprise IT systems (ERP, databases, cloud).
  • Develop and maintain secure efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases (SQL, historian, timeseries databases) for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics.
  • Troubleshoot optimize and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in MES functions (production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC etc).
  • Proficiency with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMIs) and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT etc).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Certifications (Ignition Gold, Certified Specialist OPC UA or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications).
