System Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled System Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable systems that meet the needs of our business.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the high availability, scalability, and performance of our production systems. You will work closely with our development teams to identify and resolve issues before they impact our users.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement service level agreements (SLAs), service level indicators (SLIs), and service level objectives (SLOs) for services within the business unit.
  • Participate in the entire development lifecycle, including system maintenance, monitoring, automation, backend operation, and collaboration with functional and technical team members to provide high-quality services.
  • Automate routine manual production/non-production operations using technologies like Ansible, Chef, etc. Be responsible for proposing and implementing automation to increase productivity and quality.
  • Continuously improve system performance and reliability.
  • Have a service ownership mindset and be proactive in responding to production issues.
  • Promote new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance the development, testing, and production operations process. Develop strong self-learning abilities and motivation to work on new technologies.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, handling high-traffic production systems independently, troubleshooting middleware and infrastructure, automation, regular operations, etc.
  • Implement Site Reliability Engineering principles regarding performance, reliability, monitoring, and alerting in Production environments.
  • Manage large-scale services.
  • Experience in designing and constructing public clouds (e.g., GCP, Azure), preferably GCP.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD/CT pipelines using tools like Jenkins/Bamboo and VCS such as GIT/SVN.
  • Strong knowledge of LINUX-based system operation and extensive skills in Linux commands.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux/Shell/Python scripting.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management, e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
  • Experience in developing and operating one or more of the following systems: Kubernetes, Nginx, ELK stack, Hadoop, etc.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend best practices based on industry standards.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex automation and functional issues.
  • Be flexible with emergency support timing based on business requirements and adapt to business needs in terms of working hours.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL - Couchbase, Cassandra.
