Senior Software Developer Role

This is a challenging position for an experienced professional responsible for developing high-quality software applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with team leads and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires strong technical skills, good communication and collaboration abilities, as well as the capacity to mentor junior developers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Software development using Java 8 and above
  • Knowledge of solution design and architecting
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies
  • Contributing towards effective software design and development
  • Strong communication with stakeholders and team members
  • Training and mentoring junior team members
  • Ensuring timely defect resolution and quality assurance
  • Collaboration with functional analysis and quality assurance teams

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java 8 and above, with knowledge of additional languages like Kotlin and Scala
  • Hands-on experience with open-source Java frameworks like Spring Batch, Spring Boot, JPA and Hibernate
  • Experience in messaging technologies like JMS, IBM MQ, Solace, Kafka
  • Knowledge of relational databases - Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, H2
  • Hands-on experience in developing REST/JSON Web Services
  • Familiarity with build tools - Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Understanding of web and application servers like Tomcat, Weblogic, Webspere, JBoss
  • Knowledge of revision control system - Git, SVN
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks - Junit, Mockito
  • Skills in developing Unix shell scripts

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Additional languages like Kotlin, Scala & Python
  • Knowledge of Big Data / Streaming technologies
  • End-to-end design and delivery of solutions
  • UI frameworks like Angular or React
  • RDBMS / Oracle design, development, tuning
  • Sun/Oracle architecture-specific certifications
