Database Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing high-performance databases.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement high-performance databases using RDBMS and NoSQL systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, ScyllaDB, Cassandra, BigQuery.
  • Automate database deployments using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data storage needs and optimize schema, queries and indexes.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure database availability and performance using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Evaluate data security and compliance by applying encryption, access controls and auditing mechanisms.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy and backup solutions.
  • Analyze database slowdowns and optimize query performance and resource utilization.

Required Skills :

  • 6-9 years of hands-on experience in Database / SQL developer / Engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following : PostgreSQL, MySQL, ScyllaDB, Cassandra, BigQuery, MongoDB, MS-Sql.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, indexing strategies, replication, sharding and consistency models.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and cloud-native database solutions.
  • Knowledge of SQL performance tuning and query optimization tools.
  • Experience working with Kafka, Airflow, Dataflow or other data pipeline orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, shell scripting and version control (Git).
