Job Description:

Workplace Standard Auditor and Trainer

  • The Mica Industry Context is crucial for various industries worldwide due to its optical properties and natural electrical and thermal insulation.

India is the largest mica exporter, accounting for 40% of global volumes, primarily mined in Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh.

Position Overview

This role supports the growth of a responsible and sustainable mica supply chain in India and strengthens support to upstream supply chain actors in Rajasthan and Andra Pradesh.

The successful candidate will work closely with governance bodies, executive teams, members, and partners under the supervision of the Director of Programmes based in Bhilwara (Rajasthan state, India).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct gap assessments of India mica processors and mines versus Global Workplace Standards and forthcoming RMI mining standard.
  • Co-design Corrective Action Plans with processors and mine owners and support their implementation.
  • Coordinate collective third-party audit protocol for RMI members.
  • Collaborate with accredited external auditing companies.
  • Develop training content for auditors on RMI standards and conduct online or face-to-face training sessions.

District Level Advocacy in Rajasthan: Build and maintain a network with local district governmental officers/authorities.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong social and environmental auditing expertise.
  • Excellent coordination, monitoring, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work proactively and independently.
  • Fluency in English & Hindi.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in International Development, Business, Engineer/Mining, Social Auditing, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain social and environmental auditing, sustainability standards, and mining standards.
  • Good knowledge of Indian labor laws and regulation, Industrial EHS requirements, Quality and Production systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions.
  • Experience working in Rajasthan/or with Rajasthan stakeholders is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience working on related missions.
