Strategic Data Governance Specialist

Are you a strategic thinker passionate about data governance and controls? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Wholesale Risk Chief Data Office team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Management:
    • Provide support to lead risk management initiatives across all data risks.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
    • Develop and maintain procedures to adhere to firm-wide data risk policy and standards.
  • Data Governance:
    • Prepare and present standard and ad-hoc reports in line with firm-wide policy and standards.
    • Provide status updates to stakeholders measuring compliance and progress.
    • Escalate project issues and risks appropriately.
  • Data Quality:
    • Manage assigned data quality issues by coordinating remediation activities with technology and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to document impacts of data quality.
    • Review root cause analysis and recommend solutions for data quality issues.
  • Data Lifecycle Management:
    • Execute documented processes with minimal supervision.
    • Support operationalizing data risk related processes and maintaining them in an evergreen state.
    • Identify and execute operational improvements in BAU activities.
  • Data Description:
    • Contribute to the build-out of the Risk Data Dictionary - work with partners through working groups to finalize data element definitions and maintain all information in the FDM tool.
    • Research and document data ownership and data lineage. Understand the business context on respective data elements and source systems.
  • Data Controls Management:
    • Maintain best practices for data controls, working with control managers to analyze existing controls and implement additional controls to monitor data health.
    • Actively contribute to the WCR Controls Working Group to drive centralized and comprehensive data controls implementation.
