Pastry Cook Job

This position involves preparing a variety of pastry and dessert menu items according to provided recipes and photos.

  • Assigned a station in the galley by the Pastry Chef Tournant, with occasional changes to familiarize tasks.
  • Responsible for some pastry and dessert production, setting up displays on buffets as needed.
  • Assists with transporting food items from main stores to the galley when assigned.
  • Cleans and sanitizes working area and utensils following US Public Health rules and regulations.
  • May be assigned to early standby in the galley for USPH purposes.

This role requires awareness of standard operations, assisting guests and crew members with inquiries.

Duties include attending meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related activities as required.

A Pastry Cook will perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Requirements:
  • Minimum two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency requirement.
