Key Role Summary

This high-profile role focuses on overseeing insurance programs for renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle, from development and construction to operations and maintenance.

  • Possess a deep understanding of both insurance principles and the specific risks associated with large-scale renewable energy projects.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the renewal process for various insurance policies, including Property All Risks, Business Interruption, Marine Cargo, Construction All Risks, Erection All Risks, Public Liability, Environmental Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber Insurance.
  2. Review and negotiate policy wordings, terms, and conditions with brokers and underwriters to ensure optimal coverage and competitive pricing, ensuring compliance with local and international insurance regulations and company policies.
  3. Conduct thorough risk assessments for new and existing renewable energy projects, identifying potential exposures such as natural catastrophes, equipment failure, technology risks, supply chain disruptions, and political risks.

Required Expertise

  • MBA in Finance/Insurance from a reputable institution.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in a large and well-established Renewable or Corporate, Investment Banking, Private Equity Funds, or Big Four organization.
  • Domain experience in Power/Transmission / infrastructure industry.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of solar, wind, and other renewable energy technologies. Strong comprehension of the Indian Insurance Market and insurance products.
