Strategic Finance Architect

The role of Financial Solutions Architect is a critical part of the IT SAP Global Center of Excellence, based in India. This position plays a key role in the overall IT SAP COE structure and requires an expert in SAP with strong knowledge of finance and controlling processes.

This architect will be responsible for setting and managing the organization's SAP IT landscape in alignment with business requirements of the Finance Department. Strong cross-module knowledge and supporting the overall SAP transformation journey are essential for this role.

Key duties and responsibilities include developing and enhancing SAP solutions for finance department processes, leading the creation of new SAP landscapes and implementation of SAP by replacing existing non-SAP solutions or business needs. The architect must maintain a particular strength in finding what can be delivered out of the box and when it is fitting to use custom development.

Additionally, this architect will define, design, and deliver SAP process, ensuring a best practice design and implementation of SAP solutions for finance processes. They will also provide architecture and design guidance, guide development and functional teams to configure and implement solutions according to SAP standards and best practices.

Monitor the progress of Fi/CO module and team monitoring, lead and manage FI/CO module ensuring all processes are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Ensure adherence to SAP documentation practices and standards.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to engage and influence business team members / stakeholders and manage project teams. A strong team player who collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources is also necessary.

Master's degree or equivalent in a related field to the area of responsibility is required, with advanced degree preferred (MBA Finance). Certification in SAP: Preferred (FI/CO Module) is also desired. Must have 10+ years of overall SAP experience with strong functional knowledge of Sales, Manufacturing or other Enterprise processes using SAP with specialization in Finance and Controlling Module.

Minimum of 7 years prior experience in managing a large-scale SAP-related programs in the capacity of Module Lead is also required. Should have designed Finance Org Structure and delivered multi-dimensional reporting, as well as strong knowledge of Parallel Accounting, Transfer Pricing and Material Ledger functionality in SAP. Knowledge of SAP FI/CO Module, interaction between FICO and other modules like MM, SD, PP etc. is also necessary.

Global experience in terms of legal requirements specially Tax, Banking, Electronic Reporting is highly desirable. Accounts Payable – Shared Services, Group Reporting, Deep knowledge of diverse areas of technology including ERP, Master Data, Electronic Banking, FSCM etc., and Deep knowledge of SAP technical and functional architecture, data model along with new and emerging SAP capabilities are also required.

Experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or life science industry preferred, as well as experience in fast-paced global multinational matrix organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence business team members / stakeholders and manage project teams, are essential.

A strong team player who collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources is necessary. Must have designed or supported and managed ITGC tasks, worked on electronic records submission for Finance – like GST, VAT, E Invoicing etc. and managed Internal / External Auditors for Sox compliance -ITGC.
