About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to ensure database integrity, performance, and security. The successful candidate will be involved in planning and developing databases as well as troubleshooting issues on behalf of users.

  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring database security and integrity.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and other methods.
  • Implement data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.
  • Resolve database performance and capacity issues, replication, and distributed data issues.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
  • Manage and maintain backups and recovery procedures.
  • Install and test upgrades and patches.
  • Implement and maintain database security.
  • Develop database scripts for automation.
  • Troubleshoot and correct database issues, ensuring database recovery.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage data warehousing plans and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Deploy, maintain, and support current and future database systems in cloud environments.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of specific DBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in database design and modeling.
  • Expertise in SQL and query optimization.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Understanding of high availability solutions and replication.
  • Expertise in database security and user management.
  • Experience in database migration and upgrades.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
