Job Description

Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head Design and Statutory Approval. This position is responsible for leading the design and development of construction projects, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and driving innovation in architectural design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize and develop construction projects based on strategic plans and architectural designs.
  • Ensure comprehensive statutory compliance across all projects, including internal and external projects.
  • Lead and assist in project appraisals, development of construction materials, and related research.
  • Coordinate with customers, end-users, design and technical consultants, suppliers, and business partners to design and develop solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Design and conceptualize development of construction projects, integrating various elements of design, including architecture, structure, MEP services, landscape, interior, lighting, and façade.
  • Anchor the entire design process to ensure high marketability, functional and economical soundness, and provision of a great environment for users.
  • Appoint international AORs and design consultants, developing RFPs, design briefs, comparative analysis, negotiations, and drafting agreements.
  • Value engineering, cost engineering, and knowledge of construction technologies to optimize product performance and ensure end-to-end delivery of design and project management.
  • Develop and establish checks and measures to ensure detailing in outputs for construction activity.
  • Ensure design validation through personal visits to sites, interaction with end-users, feedback from customers, and incorporating the same into design and development process.
  • Create and enhance value by ensuring innovation in architectural design process in line with requirements from stakeholders.
  • Set and implement product performance standards, specifications, and selection of appropriate materials.
  • Lead the team in all disciplines of design from master planning, architecture, structure, MEP services, landscape, interior, lighting, façade, and create a culture of innovation.
  • Coordinate between different teams for BOQ, tendering, execution, and handover of projects.
  • Coordinate closely with purchase and procurement teams for material identification and finalization.
  • Manage all regulatory matters of various courts and regulatory offices for land and revenue-related matters across India, including property tax matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Master's in Architecture.
  • 20+ years of work experience, with at least 5 years as Head of Design and Statutory Approvals.
  • Structural design concept, project management techniques, knowledge of construction materials, decision-making, communication skills, team management, and knowledge of legislations and policies.
