Senior Statutory Reporting Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production and review of UK GAAP statutory financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the ledger and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Lead the production and review of MGG's consolidated IFRS results, including review of BU inputs, eliminations, and consolidation adjustments.
  • Manage the production and review of monthly consolidation for MGG, producing a consolidated income statement and balance sheet.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements and ledger reconciliations.
  • Ensure Group reporting under IFRS and review associated workbooks prior to submission to M&G plc Group Head Office using Tagetik, ensuring all reporting and disclosure requirements are met.
  • Lead the UK Reporting team, providing support, guidance, and leadership to enable the team to fulfill their roles and continue to develop and grow along with the business.
  • Evaluate various potential solutions to reporting questions, considering the implications on accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with data providers to meet reporting requirements.
  • Review board packs and dashboards for Operational and Executive Committees.
  • Ensure accurate MI reporting and analysis, providing crucial insights for strategic business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS), and Group Head Office procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects, supporting programmes with detailed accounting requirements and impact analysis.
  • Evaluate and enhance processes and procedures to accommodate business changes.
  • Support continuous improvement through regular and customized analyses.
  • Strategically plan and allocate tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance, ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated, understood, and met.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, taking personal responsibility to drive any enhancements to controls to support improvement of the overall control environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest accounting and business developments.
  • Participate in ad-hoc tasks and projects.
