Job Opportunity:

This role involves managing product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, and logistics coordination.

As a product development professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing product development from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design
  • Ensuring all raw materials, job workers, and internal and external production teams are aligned for timely delivery of production
  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors
  • Developing, evaluating, and presenting pre-development samples
  • Monitoring and evaluating product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve best pricing without compromising on quality and timelines
  • Making bill of material for bulk orders and production runs
  • Sourcing, developing, and ensuring all raw materials are planned, ordered, and followed-up to ensure no timeline surprises
  • Visiting job workers and factories to track production on regular basis
  • Managing dispatches, coordination with courier partners, invoices, and payments across all vendors

You will also be responsible for implementing and enforcing quality control procedures, conducting inspections and overseeing testing of materials and finished products, making and maintaining daily detailed logs and updates, keeping track of raw material consumption, updating ERP software, and maintaining production files and library.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in PD, buying, merchandising, and production
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories and the factory supplier base
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong organization skills
