Data Governance Specialist Role

You will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of data assets across the organization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-value data products in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from acquisition and modelling to cataloguing and governance.
  • Design and maintain complex data models that support operational excellence and analytics.
  • Oversee metadata and data catalogue tools to ensure discoverability and lineage tracking.
  • Deliver scalable and secure data products on cloud platforms.
  • Apply foundational data transformation techniques using SQL and Python to prepare data for consumption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Promote data quality, integrity, and compliance across systems and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data governance and management across all stages of the data lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with complex data modelling techniques.
  • Proficiency in metadata management and data cataloguing tools.
  • Demonstrated delivery of data products within cloud ecosystems.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for data manipulation and transformation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a pragmatic approach to value delivery and execution.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data excellence.
  • Solid business acumen and ability to align data initiatives with strategic objectives.

Domain Expertise (Mandatory):

  • SAP ERP and MDG: Applied experience with core systems, particularly in master data governance and enterprise resource planning.
  • Business knowledge:
  • Ability to contextualize data within the business landscape to drive insights and innovation.
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial aspects.
  • Deep understanding of customer profitability and pricing strategies.
