The overall goal of this role is to ensure the reliability and efficient operation of all plant utilities, mechanical, and electrical systems. This includes equipment across the pharmaceutical facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, utility, and process equipment.
  • Lead the upkeep and maintenance of critical utilities, including boilers, chillers, DG sets, and water purification systems, ensuring energy efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Manage the installation, commissioning, and qualification (URS/DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ) of new equipment and systems.
  • Supervise mechanical utilities and process equipment like HVAC systems, purified water systems, and other critical utilities.
  • Coordinate project schedules, equipment FAT, drawings, BOQs, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage site inspections, ensure quality execution, and resolve technical issues during installation or operation.
  • Prepare and review maintenance documentation, progress reports, SOPs, and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional departments to support project execution and plant operations.
  • Implement and improve maintenance best practices, cost control, and reliability strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Root Cause Analysis: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve underlying issues in equipment failures and system inefficiencies.
  • CMMS Proficiency: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for tracking, planning, and optimizing maintenance activities.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accuracy in maintaining technical documentation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Energy Management Awareness: Understanding of energy-efficient practices and optimization of utility consumption.

This role requires a professional with experience in Pharmaceutical APIs or related field manufacturing organization, holding a degree in engineering or related field. A master's degree in operations, engineering management, or maintenance management is desirable but not mandatory.
