Energy Policy Advocate Director

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director to lead our energy advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy advocacy, regulatory compliance, and energy policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on energy policy, regulatory, and market-based mechanisms to increase supply and demand for renewable energy, energy storage, electric mobility, and green hydrogen.
- Read and create summaries of global policy documents, knowledge papers, and reports from various think tanks, consulting organizations, and associations.
- Analyze renewable energy and storage deployment and integration issues at the state, regional, and national level. Facilitate government relations.
- Help draft various policy papers on behalf of Customized Energy Solutions and support the consulting division as needed.
- Assist with program implementation, including preparing presentations, concept notes, minutes of meetings, and comments to senior leadership.
- Build and manage relationships with state and central government officials and government entities.
- Identify new business opportunities for funding research, policy papers, and approaching various global funding agencies.
- Participate in policy advocacy, understanding the current Indian policy development and global policy landscape, and providing appropriate inputs to both central and state governments.
- Articulate findings through visually appealing frameworks and clear, concise business English (both written and verbal).
- Contribute to the delivery and presentation of client deliverables (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word) - prepare client-ready presentations that are well structured, logical, and clear to understand.
- The candidate should be comfortable speaking/communicating with CXO-level executives, policymakers, and government officials.
- Effectively manage the request intake process, including proposal preparation for clients.
- Participate and drive IESA Policy Working Group meetings and represent Customized Energy Solutions at various government committees, forums, and conferences.
Qualifications
- Master's degrees with a minimum of 8 years of experience in policy advocacy in the energy space.
- Keen interest in the power sector, electricity markets, renewable energy, energy storage, E-Mobility, green hydrogen, regulations, and energy transition is desirable.
- Sound understanding of India's energy sector and policy and regulatory environment.
- Strong research background, including an understanding of experimental and analytical research.
- Experience in writing research papers and other strategic communications is a necessary prerequisite.
