Human Resource Compliance Specialist

The HR and People Strategy team manages the entire employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to employee engagement and development. They partner closely with business teams to design strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent.

About the Role

As a Human Resource Compliance Specialist, you will ensure adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory labour laws. This role involves end-to-end execution, documentation, governance, vendor coordination, audits, and process improvement across HR compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely compliance with central and state labour laws.
  • Oversee multi-state compliance requirements and filings.
  • Conduct onboarding checks for statutory forms and declarations.
  • Address and resolve employee-related queries in coordination with vendors and regional offices.
  • Ensure real-time tracking and closure of compliance deliverables using a compliance tracking system.

Compliance Expertise

Interpret and implement HR compliance guidelines issued by sector regulators. Maintain awareness of new and changing regulatory mandates affecting HR operations and workforce governance.

Documentation, Inspections & Governance

Maintain statutory registers, compliance folders, and inspection records. Coordinate and support internal and external audits for HR data, PI data, and vendor data.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with Legal, Admin, Finance, HRBPs, and external vendors to ensure seamless compliance execution.

Requirements:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Human Resources, Labour Law, or related field.
  • Additional certification in labour law or statutory compliance is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR compliance, preferably in a regulated industry (financial services).
  • Hands-on experience managing compliance audits, inspections, and liaising with regulatory authorities.
  • Strong knowledge of central and state labour laws and statutory regulations.
  • Familiarity with sector-specific compliance.
  • Ability to manage multi-state compliance complexity.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and audit readiness.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using compliance tracking tools, HRMS, and MS Office.
