Government Business Development Executive

We are looking for a highly skilled Government Business Development Executive to join our team at Coforge. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in central government sales, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of government procurement processes.

About the Role:

  • This is a senior-level position that requires proven experience in closing large business opportunities in Central Government within the last 3 financial years.
  • The successful candidate will lead sales efforts in focused Central Government ministries, build and nurture relationships with senior bureaucrats, government officials, and decision-makers to influence and drive sales.
  • They will develop a thorough understanding of government tenders, procurement processes, and compliance requirements, and build and manage relationships with key OEMs and partners to develop joint strategies for winning government business.
  • The role also involves providing strategic input and insights into market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business strategy, and collaborating with internal teams to develop proposals, bids, and other documentation necessary for government projects.

Requirements:

  • At least 10-12 years of overall sales experience with a minimum of 5 years specifically in Central Government sales.
  • An Engineering graduate + MBA (preferred).
  • Must have worked in a System Integration company, with deep familiarity in selling IT solutions to Central government.
  • Strong knowledge of government business processes, including familiarity with government tenders, procurement policies, and contract management.
  • Proven relationships with senior government officials and key OEMs.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to manage complex government deals, excellent relationship management, and strategic thinking.
