Database Expert Job Opportunity

The role of a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) involves overseeing the management, maintenance and migration of secure databases on Cloud and On-Prem platforms. The primary objective is to provide an Always Available secure database tier with high performance for both backend data and frontend application accessibility for end-users.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, installing, tuning, deploying, securing, migrating and upgrading DBMS installations. The ideal candidate must monitor database performance, identify and resolve database issues, migrate databases across Cloud and On-Prem platforms with minimal or no downtime, and provide guidance and support to Developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning.

Main responsibilities also include HA/DR setup, Replication, database encryption, Index and Filegroup management, monitoring database system for performance and capacity constraints, and liaising with Managers, Developers, Operations, System and Database administrators.

The ideal candidate should have working knowledge in database programming languages, knowledge of database backup-recovery, security and performance monitoring standards, understanding of database concepts, experience in developing migration plans, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related information technology field with 6 to 8 years of experience in database administration or development is required. Proficient knowledge in database technologies such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and relevant certifications on cloud technologies are necessary.
