Job Title: Temporary Works Designer

Designing and developing temporary works and specialized construction equipment used during bridge erection and related civil infrastructure projects.

This includes form travelers, launching gantries, scaffolding, falsework, lifting frames, and other consultant-designed equipment. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Temporary Works Designer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and analysing temporary structures and equipment used in bridge construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety codes, and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyse temporary structures and equipment used in bridge construction.
  • Develop detailed CAD drawings, 3D models, and structural calculations for temporary works.
  • Coordinate with bridge design consultants, contractors, and equipment fabricators to integrate temporary structures with permanent works.
  • Perform structural analysis using software such as STAAD.Pro, Midas Civil, SofiStik etc.
  • Support construction teams by providing technical guidance during the fabrication, installation, and use of temporary works.
  • Review subcontractor designs and ensure constructability, safety, and cost-efficiency.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and method statements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in temporary structure design, preferably in bridge or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, MIDAS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AASHTO, BS, EN).
  • Experience with construction staging and erection engineering is a plus.
