Job Overview

The role of RME Manager II is pivotal in ensuring the overall upkeep and maintenance of buildings and facilities for operations in India.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Indian laws, regulations, and standards, including Hazwaste management, Pressure vessels, Calibrations, Pollution control board requirements, Electricity board requirements, Weights & Measurement, Licenses, and Permits.
  • Maintain FSSAI food safety standards within the building, encompassing pest control, cleanliness, and document management.
  • Coordinate with the Landlord and Amazon Real Estate team to ensure the upkeep and availability of common area lighting, fire protection systems, STP, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Prepare annual operational and capital expenditure budgets and ensure targets are met.
  • Investigate incidents/breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical equipment and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), adhering to industry best practices.
  • Meet/raise benchmarks for Amazon RME activities.
  • Maintain equipment, including Conveyors, Workstations, Labeling Machines, PLC control systems, Electrical Systems, Trolleys, etc.
  • Provide timely feedback/inputs to team members and evaluate them during yearly performance reviews.
  • Implement preventive maintenance routines on equipment.
  • Manage contractors/vendors to ensure adherence to rules and minimize site operations disruption.
  • Develop and implement vendor Agreement Management Contracts (AMCs) with service levels for equipment.
  • Follow up on material purchasing with the Procurement Team.
  • Prepare critical spares lists and plan/maintain inventory at site.
  • Provide feedback and analysis on equipment performance and availability.
  • Manage day-to-day issues on equipment with Operations teams, defining priorities and organizing work accordingly.
  • Lead a team of Maintenance technicians and 3rd party facilities service providers.
  • Define goals, prioritize tasks, organize staff planning, and provide training to ensure service levels.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, applying Amazon's Safety Policy and collaborating with the Safety team to improve site safety.
  • Enforce 5S standards by managing a diverse team and ensuring all standards are followed.
  • Maintain and update relevant documents for the RME function.
  • Support the Engineering & Projects team for new equipment installations, ensuring Amazon standards are met.
  • Lead within the group and other teams, offering creative solutions and providing technical guidance during critical events.
