Software Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products by designing and implementing effective testing strategies.

This role involves providing mentorship and expertise in technologies and processes for information services (I.S.) quality assurance (QA). The ideal candidate will maintain an awareness of emerging technologies to ensure a competitive advantage.

The Software Quality Assurance Specialist will automate test scenarios and expected outcomes, provide expertise for UPS key business functions and supporting technologies, and apply a comprehensive knowledge of technical skills, principles, practices, and procedures of testing methodologies and working knowledge in planning, designing, and conducting QA reviews and inspections.

This position conducts comprehensive testing and risk-based assessments of the testing objects, uses source documentation as input, and contributes to the planning and implementation of testing activities.

The Software Quality Assurance Specialist leads testing components of large and complex projects, assigns tasks, provides direction to resources, and reports progress to project stakeholders.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement effective testing strategies to ensure the quality of software products.
  • Provide mentorship and expertise in technologies and processes for I.S. QA.
  • Automate test scenarios and expected outcomes.
  • Apply a comprehensive knowledge of technical skills, principles, practices, and procedures of testing methodologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and risk-based assessments of the testing objects.
  • Use source documentation as input and contribute to the planning and implementation of testing activities.
  • Lead testing components of large and complex projects.
  • Assign tasks, provide direction to resources, and report progress to project stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7+ years testing experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in testing APIs.
  • Expertise with Windows IIS WCF and Azure Microservices.
  • Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service for testing containerized apps.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server queries.
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling, HTML, and Object-Oriented Analysis & Design.
  • Experience with Agile Development.
  • Familiarity with Business Acumen and Technical Analysis.
