Category Manager IT Procurement is a leadership role that involves leading the IT procurement efforts of our organization. This position requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and collaboration skills.

About the Job:

This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to optimize spend, improve quality, and reduce costs.

  1. Procurement Strategy: The ideal candidate will develop and implement procurement strategies that drive business outcomes through strategic procurement practices.
  2. Negotiations and Contracting: The successful candidate will negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible prices and terms for IT-related goods and services.
  3. Delivery and Settlement: The selected candidate will ensure timely delivery and settlement of all IT-related procurements.
  4. Compliance: The individual will maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including internal and external audits.
  5. Risk Management: The ideal candidate will identify and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement, developing alternates and optimizing spend to achieve both speed and cost excellence.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, preferably computer engineering or IT, and a postgraduate degree in IT systems or a related field. A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in a similar role in a large, complex organization is required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are necessary for this position, as well as a creative mindset and strong ethics.

This role reports directly to the Head of Procurement and oversees a small team. The selected candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to drive business outcomes through strategic procurement practices.
