Optical Transport Network Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our telecommunication networks.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced optical transport network engineer to join our team. You will have the chance to work on high-capacity optical transport networks using Ciena and Infinera equipment, configuring and troubleshooting DWDM, OTN, and SDH systems to ensure optimal network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain high-capacity optical transport networks using Ciena and Infinera equipment.
  • System Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot DWDM, OTN, and SDH systems to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and perform data cleanup tasks using Blue Planet and other tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network issues.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and technologies to recommend improvements to our network infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, preferably with hands-on experience with Ciena and Infinera equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of DWDM, OTN, and SDH systems, as well as experience with Inventory Management tools like Blue Planet.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
