Delivering exceptional physiotherapy care is at the heart of our mission. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team, specifically to work with students who have learning difficulties.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in physiotherapy, coupled with proven experience in teaching or working with individuals with diverse learning needs. This role involves close collaboration with students, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to provide specialized therapeutic support and enhance the well-being and development of our pupils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children with various needs.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing individualized treatment plans (ITPs) and therapy goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other health professionals.
  • Delivering 1:1 and group physiotherapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental level and physical needs.
  • Providing support for physical access and mobility within the school environment, including recommending adaptations and assistive equipment.
  • Monitoring progress and outcomes using evidence-based tools and updating care plans accordingly.
  • Supporting pupils with postural management programs, mobility aids, orthotics, and safe handling strategies.
  • Working closely with teaching staff, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and school nurses.
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, reviews, and transition planning.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records, risk assessments, and reports in line with professional standards.
  • Providing training to school staff and families on physiotherapy programs, manual handling, and positioning techniques.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate should possess:

  • 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc) and HCPC registration.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or young people with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Manual Handling and Safeguarding Children skills.
  • Knowledge of conditions affecting motor development and experience with specialist equipment.
