Role Overview

Job Title: Linux Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert-level technical support for Linux operating systems in a high-pressure banking environment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Operate within ITIL frameworks (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Ensure seamless availability, performance, and security; participate in regular disaster recovery drills.
  • Effectively troubleshoot complex issues and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses for recurring incidents and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Optimize configurations and schedule tasks to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate vendor technical assistance cases, firmware updates, and validate post-change system health.
  • Exhibit strong documentation skills, maintain runbook integrity, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate readiness for 24/7 support and on-call rotation responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals and architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in ITIL processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Linux system administration tools and scripts.
