Job Overview

The position of a Taxation Supervisor involves overseeing the preparation and review of complex financial services client returns, including hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detailed review of State returns for financial services clients.
  • Identification of international filing requirements through org chart studies and review of international tax returns.
  • Training of existing/new joiners on concepts, technology, and sharing timely feedback on projects reviewed.
  • Supervision of kick-off calls to understand clients, regular connects with US counterparts by teams, and intervention in budget conflicts, resource scheduling conflicts, etc.
  • Guidance of staff/seniors on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes, e-filing validations.
  • Recruitment, training, performance evaluation, mentoring of team members.
  • Constant connects with US counterparts to ensure adherence to timelines, high-quality deliverables through consistent learning.
  • Enabling the team towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Facilitation of trainings and development of training materials for technical topics.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unseen tax scenarios.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Readiness to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner, enthusiastic, positive demeanor, and a team player.
  • Willingness to work long hours during busy season times.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work based on project urgency.
  • Efficient multi-tasking and handling various projects simultaneously.
  • Effective training and supervision of staff, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Ability to guide subordinates through technical problems they face.
  • Development of working relationships with peers, supervisors, and U.S. colleagues.

Position Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (US), IRS Enrolled Agent.
  • Experience in detailed review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, Case ware.
  • Relevant experience of more than 5+ years with major experience in Financial Services Returns.
