Job Title: Senior Legal Professional

The role of a Senior Legal Professional is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization's legal affairs. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Senior Legal Professional.

About The Role:

This is a senior-level position that requires a high degree of expertise in legal matters, specifically in claims and disputes resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and handle all legal issues regarding claims matters, including recovery actions such as outstanding freight, detention, and demurrage.
  • Gather all relevant documents and report to HO all claims within 24 hours, advising on the merits of the claim and future steps to be taken.
  • Assist in the handling of court cases until their closure, providing guidance to other colleagues as needed.
  • Handle all P&I related matters, such as cargo claims, GA & stowage, and third-party damages to CMA CGM containers and cargo.
  • Ensure that all procedures implemented by the Head Office Legal Department are duly implemented and followed within the network of CMA CGM India.
  • Provide legal advice and assist other Departments of CMA CGM on all shipping-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal affairs, preferably in a maritime industry setting.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
