Release Train Engineer Job Description

As a Release Train Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of our organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning, system demos, and Agile Release Train ceremonies to drive successful outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to define and prioritize features that align with our business objectives.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve cross-team dependencies and risks to maintain project momentum.
  • Ensure alignment of delivery objectives across front-to-back functions (technology, operations, and business teams) to foster a cohesive team environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Agile maturity across teams, promoting best practices in scaling frameworks such as SAFe.
  • Provide transparency into delivery status, metrics, and progress for senior stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Support change and release management processes for highly complex and regulated systems to maintain compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 12 years of IT experience, with 3-5 years in a Release Train Engineer, Program Manager, or Agile Delivery Lead role.
  • Proven experience in running large-scale Agile Release Trains using methodologies like SAFe.
  • Exposure to highly critical financial systems, preferably Murex or similar trading/risk platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, program management, and scaled delivery practices to drive success.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills to navigate complex relationships.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills to tackle challenges head-on.
