Role Overview

Liaison with regional Underwriters to devise underwriting strategies that maintain defined loss ratio targets for commercial lines. The objective is to strike a balance between risk selection and business growth.

Interact with sales teams at the area level to understand their objectives and provide strategic inputs on product mix, industry, and geography. This involves analyzing market trends and competitor activity to inform underwriting decisions.

Analyze past trends and market dynamics to offer insights on portfolio management and risk selection criteria. This includes reviewing data on claim frequency and severity to identify areas for improvement.

Conduct quarterly portfolio analysis to update stakeholders on outcomes and corrective actions. This includes monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjusting underwriting strategies accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite and approve quotes based on authority, adhering to risk selection criteria and adequate pricing. This involves evaluating the potential risks and rewards of each quote and making informed decisions.

Monitor team performance to track achievements and identify anomalies in adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines. This includes conducting regular audits and providing feedback to team members.

Ensure team adherence to portfolio strategy to achieve business goals. This involves communicating clearly with team members and providing guidance on best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

Meet intermediaries to discuss business potential, company philosophy, and targeted opportunities. This involves building relationships with key stakeholders and identifying new business opportunities.

Interact with customers to evaluate insurance programs and suggest improvements in product coverage and exclusions. This involves analyzing customer needs and preferences to develop tailored solutions.

Guide intermediaries on potential business proposals and improving loss ratios. This involves sharing expertise and best practices to help intermediaries make informed decisions.
