Chief Financial Officer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial strategy, planning, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure accurate projections and informed decision-making.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the leadership team for key business decisions.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, adhering to Indian GAAP/IFRS/Ind-AS standards.
  • Implement best practices in financial reporting to maintain transparency and accuracy.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and maintain up-to-date financial MIS reports.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Manage statutory, internal, and tax audits from start to finish, ensuring timely closure and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, FEMA, and other relevant statutes.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to minimize risks and maintain a secure financial environment.
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and regulators as needed.

Taxation and Regulatory:

  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, filings, and assessments, ensuring timely payments and adherence to statutory deadlines.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary process updates to maintain compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Professional accounting designation as a CA
  • At least 10 years' experience in senior-level financial management positions, preferably in similar industries
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Results-oriented, strategic thinker, and planner
